𝗦𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 is a work that mixes photography and drawing. Under the hand-painted blue paper plate is a photographic photo of a small bathroom floor; next to the photo is a drawing of a small bathroom floor according to the photo, with fine blue pastels added. This is a work that explores the difference between the languages of photography and painting, and where the artist ponders the concepts of concealment and disclosure. More than half of the photographs are covered by the red cardboard, and the audience has no way of knowing what is inside. They can only guess the overall appearance of the photographs through the content of the paintings next to them. In addition, the artist concentrates on depicting the daily moments, carefully draws the daily life, and brings out the tranquility of daily life. Cool Bathroom and 𝗦𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 are a pair of works. The artist concentrates on depicting the daily moments, carefully draws the daily life, and brings out its tranquil essence.

Listen to the Rain

When the water splashed, I photographed the ripples. The fine ripples are like rain falling. After I printed out this photography work, I drew black smoke and water drops by hand.
At that time, I happened to be studying in Pittsburgh in the United States. I knew that Pittsburgh used to be an industrial city, and the factories often emitted thick black smoke. This impression was unforgettable to me. After returning to Hong Kong, many of my works have the shadow of black smoke. This combination of sea water ripples and smoke is like a dream while half awake and half asleep. Or the moment you wake up, you feel the surroundings are peaceful, as if you are in meditation. |
我把一塊石頭丟進海中，立刻濺起了激烈的水花。水花四濺時，我把漣漪拍攝下來。細碎的水花猶如雨水落下。我把這個攝影作品打印出來後，用手繪上黑色的煙霧及水珠。
那時候，我剛好在美國匹茲堡留學，認識匹茲堡過去是一個工業城市，工廠常冒着黑色的濃煙，這個印象是我難以忘懷。回到香港之後，我很多作品都有黑色煙霧的影子。 這個海水漣漪和煙霧組合的作品， 彷彿在半醒半睡之間，所作的一個夢。或是醒來的一刻，感覺四周平靜、如在靜思之中。 |
